Last weekend, DART-Nuun-SportMulti athletes Matt Hayes and Jen “Seegs” Segger hit the annual Dirty Duo raced held in the North Shore mountains of Vancouver, BC, Canada. “For us locals” Jen said, “this race is a great pre-season tune up to see where our winter fitness level is at as we go into Spring.”
Hayes raced in the duo category, completing the 25km run, 30km bike combination in 4:57 and finished 2nd in the field of solo men. This race was a good warm-up as Matt is getting ready to lead the team through a multiday race in Switzerland soon.
Jen hit the 25km run course, finishing as the 2nd female with a time of 2hrs31mins. She had the lead up until 2km to the finish. However, for Seegs this was purely a training run, used for one last tempo paced run going into next weekends Coyote 2 Moons 100miler down in California. “The trails in Squamish are covered in ice and snow still, I just needed to get my feet on some dirt and get the legs turning over.” reflected Jen.
Full race results can be found on the Dirty Duo website.
