In the Pacific Northwest, that means "mudfest"; The whole PNW DART-nuun crew turned out for this annual event.  While most of us formed up in relay teams to tackle this early season 50k, Jen decided that she needed a few more base miles and in the process managed to break the course record.

You need to imagine a trail run that is nothing like her Badwater run pictured above.  Bridlel trails is a 5.2 mile loop that you repeat 6 times.  First about 200 five milers go, then another 100 ten milers start, and finally the relay teams and 50k racers head out.  On each successive lap, the rain gets harder and the mud gets deeper.  On top of that, the race starts at 3:00PM so 4 of the laps are done in the dark.

Jen's laps were extremely fast and she was staying ahead of our relay teams.  On Jen's final lap she headed out a few minutes before Glenn got his final hand off.  So much for easy early season miles.  It was clear that she was on a record pace.  Glenn caught up with her midway through her lap and they ran it in together with Jen finishing in 4:18 about 2 minutes faster than the previous record.
